Full Name: Jaxen Turner
Race: Human
Element/Power: N/A
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Weapons: N/A
Teaches: Null / Teachers Only.
Personality: `Friendly;; Jaxen has a knack for making friends because of his openness, though some people back away from him, saying he’s too friendly. In all honesty, he’s just trying to ensure no one second-guesses him, or assumes there’s anything wrong with him, because one of his fears is loneliness. Jaxen is the kind of guy parents want their daughters to meet. The kind of guy who, if he was going to pick up a girl from her house, wouldn’t have to worry about the father casually polishing his rifle somewhere. `Concerned;; He’s always worrying about other people above his own issues. `Conserving;; He’s pretty hardcore about not wasting things like water or food. `Depression;; After his father died of heart failure and he had to move from Mykonos to Canada to live with his mom, whom he was none too fond of and didn’t even know, he fell into a bit of a depression that lasted about a year until he met Myzerie. `Addiction;; During this time of depression, he began to abuse pain medications that his dad used to own prior to his death. This also ceased when Myzerie came into the picture. `Ambitious;; His goal is not to live up to his mom and step-dad’s names, but instead bring the last name Turner into light, And although probably no one in Canada knew his dad, he would still try to put a good name to Turner for him.

History: Jaxen was the result of a full moon, an island cruise and a cheap bottle of wine. Maria was 18, Keith was 22, on a cruise ship called the ‘Aquamarine’ that toured the Greek Islands. The obvious happened, and a few months later, Keith Turner, who was in his hometown of Mykonos, Greece, received a phone call from way over in Canada, from a woman he scarcely remembered, but she brought back the memory of what happened on the island cruise. The woman cursed him out, claiming It was all his fault for thinking with his dick and not with his brains, and when she gave birth to this ‘thing’ he’d impregnated her with, he’d be the one to pay to have it shipped to that ‘god-awful place’ he’s from. Keith signed some papers, then 10 months later, baby Jaxen showed up.
A nurse had given Jaxen his name; apparently Maria didn’t want to have anything to do with the baby she didn’t even consider hers. Jaxen often wondered how a woman could possibly hate her own child that much even after it’s been growing, being nurtured and nourished in her belly for nine months. And to what extent was this hatred? Did she not care about what happened to him? Did she abuse substances while he was in there? Jaxen would never know. All he did know was someone had to really lack a section of their heart to not love their own child, and he hoped he wouldn’t carry on that trait from her.
When Jaxen was 12, his father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For two years, Keith fought a hard battle, using medical procedures and chemo as his weapon, but on August 22nd, he lost the battle and passed away. This was a devastating blow to Jaxen, and because he had no grandparents in Mykonos, and the woman he considered his mom wasn’t married to his dad, and he had no god-parents, Jaxen was forced to move to Canada to live with his mom. In his dad’s will, he was left with all his dad’s possessions, but since he was only 14 at the time, the government decided Jaxen was too young to inherit all his dad’s money and his house, so they promised Jaxen could get it all once he was 18 and had returned to Greece. It was this time when Jaxen began to take his dad’s old pain medications, and he took them all to Canada with him, managing to avoid having them confiscated through customs. It was also this time where he fell into his depression, as he was having everything taken away from him, and his dad’s death was just too much. They’d had the closest bond ever.
So Jaxen moved and left everything he’d ever know to a country where he didn’t know the language, the culture, the style. To a country where there was snow. He’d never seen snow before. And he’d moved to a small town in northern Canada called: Fort Smith.
The cold was very hard on Jaxen. He was used to the hot climate of Mykonos, where the coldest it would never get below 6◦C (43◦F), and would get up to 32◦C (90◦F). He was used to heat. When he moved to Fort Smith, he had a cold for 2 months straight before his body began to adjust to the climate. Even when it did, he never went outside because he hated the cold, and he couldn’t handle the -45◦C (-49◦F) that struck Fort Smith in January. He just stayed in bed all day, getting up to make a sandwich or to shower in scalding hot water to chase away the chill, or whatever else. Maria and Brian were always sleeping all day to get rid of hangovers, or just because their sleeping schedule was messed up, so he pretty much had free reign of the house.
Fort Smith was buggy and hot and rainy in the summer, cold and dry in the winter. His house was small and stunk like cigarettes, and was always dirty. His ‘mom’ Maria, who was none too pleased to have him there, was always off with her husband, Brian, to go to house-parties and to the bar. They almost always ended up in the drunk-tank, and the name ‘Durnhart’ had little respect. They didn’t clean their house, didn’t respect themselves and didn’t respect Jaxen. He only knew very basic English because Maria and Brian wouldn’t teach him, let alone have conversations with him, he couldn’t even watch TV or do anything for entertainment because it was all in this other goddamn other language. He only picked up a few more basic words he’d gathered from hearing Maria and Brian talking (‘Hey’, ‘eat’, ‘what’s up’, ‘smoke’, etc.) He didn’t have any friends because he didn’t go outside from the cold. All this summed up to making Jaxen even more miserable after his dad’s death, which plunged him further into depression, and he felt only the high he’d get off of the pain medications was keeping him going.
It was only in May when the snow was pretty much gone that Jaxen dared venture outside. The sun was almost blinding, and although it was still much colder than May in Mykonos, he couldn’t help but enjoy the fresh air. He took a piece of Canadian Currency, then just walked down the road, and just took everything in. The road he was on led him to a gas station. He was surprised that all the buildings and stores were completely enclosed, and not out on the street. And at how BIG the roads were. Everything looked so intensely different. He entered the convenience store, recognized a couple candy bars that he’d seen in Greece, and grabbed a Mars Bar and a coke with the piece of Canadian Currency.
It was that day he’d met Myzerie.
She saw him in the convenience store and was with friends. She approached him and asked him something, but since he didn’t understand what she was trying to ask him, only heard the word ‘what’, he just gave her a cheap smile and began to walk away. She wasn’t letting him go away that easily though. She followed him, he could only assume it was because she had nothing else better to do. He buggered off to a park, and she was still trying to get his attention, he wheeled around and yelled, “What you want??” She looked hurt and a little offended, and he just waved his hand at her and said “Go!” Her friend who had tagged along with Myzerie then proceeded to bitch him out for saying that to Myzerie, but he couldn’t comprehend what she was saying, she just spoke way too fast. What he did notice though was the expression on Myzerie’s face. She just looked so hurt at how he’d snapped at her, it kind of made Jaxen feel bad. He pushed his Mars Bar and Coca-Cola into her hands, then walked away, back to the place he stayed. They didn’t follow this time.
He took it upon himself to go to the Mary Kaeser Public Library and gradually learn some more English, but there’s only so much you can learn at a library. He went into the Public High school that September, and he was a grade behind. He found out that Myzerie happened to be in all of his classes, and though he didn’t sit with anyone in the beginning, Myzerie began to sit with him in class, and they ended up sitting together everyday. She quickly learned of his limited English, and proceeded to try and help him out with it.
Over the year, they became best friends. As they got into grade 10, she’d discovered he took pain medications. After demanding an explanation as to why he was ‘ruining himself’, she marched to his house and ripped through his room, found his stash and flushed every last one of them down the toilet, forcing him to quit cold-turkey. It was hard, but with her help he made it. In their 11th year, he discovered he had fallen in love with her. He didn’t say anything about it because he didn’t want to ruin anything they already had, so he just stuck to being friends. About halfway through the school year, she met another guy, Jacobii, whom she fell in love with. He was glad she ended up with someone who was not only a great guy, but as caring as he.
In the summer before his 12th year, he was 18 and contacted the Government of Greece about claiming his dad’s possessions, but they wouldn’t allow him to claim them unless he was in Greece. Since he had no way of getting there, and he didn’t really have anything tying him down to Fort Smith (aisde from Myzerie, but she’d understand, even though she was his best friend), me decided to move. Packing his things, he made his way down through Canada, and eventually wound up in America settling in Seattle. He wanted to finish his last year in a place better than Fort Smith. After over-hearing a couple people talking discreetly about this private school called Anslema, he listened in for its whereabouts, then made his way to the school, before becoming enrolled.
Humans aren’t supposed to enroll into Anslema. They don’t even know it exists. The fact that Jaxen is even able to see it is a mystery all in itself. The school didn’t suspect that Jaxen was a mere human.
And Jaxen has no idea what’s in store for him.
